BIPOC Entrepreneurship and Small Business

We have seen that businesses started and owned by members of the community make a huge difference – in economic opportunity, wealth building, livable employment and community resilience.

We focus on fiscal sponsorship, mentorship, training, access to capital/funding, and resources to scale their businesses, focusing on building a robust ecosystem that fosters innovation, leadership, and economic independence for BIPOC entrepreneurs.

We have:

  • Supported privately-initiated grant applications for social impact initiatives,
  • Led the organization of community and regional small business and entrepreneurship events,
  • Supported entreprenerial training for students ranging from third grade to college.

One of our partners in this line of impact is Trep House, a Black-led entrepreneurship and small business support ecosystem based in Dayton, Ohio, and working nationally. Trep House is building programs and systems, both in person and online, that help entrepreneurs and small business owners make the vital but challenging transition to employers and wealth generators.
